R&TTE Directive Compliance

Motorola Mobility customers and national regulators can be assured that our radio products conform to the essential requirements of the European Union's Radio & Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive.

Our radio products are designed, tested and manufactured to the standards required by the European Union in its Directive 1999/5/EC. The essential requirements of R&TTE govern:

  • User health and safety
  • Electromagnetic compatibility
  • Radio spectrum usage

The business processes that produce our radio products are certified and regularly audited by a European Union Notified Body. This means that each radio product: 1) Is marked with the CE label; and, 2) Has a "Declaration of Conformity" (DoC).

Adopted in 1993 as part of long-time efforts to create a single European market, the CE label means the product conforms with all health, safety and environmental protection standards of the 27 European Union members and is therefore eligible to be sold within those countries. CE is an acronym for "Conformité Européene," which is French for "European Conformity."

You can use this site to view your product's Declaration of Conformity and to learn more about your product's CE label. If you would like a printable electronic copy of the Declaration of Conformity or need additional information, please contact us.
