We operate a rigorous Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management system that helps to reduce our impacts and implements our EHS policy.
The company-wide system enables us to manage potential risks to people and the environment, improve our performance and monitor compliance with our policies and with regulations around the world.
Our vision
The following long-term objectives reflect our ideals and provide a vision of how we intend to contribute to sustainable development:
- Product stewardship: Design all products for the environment and for safety
- Zero waste: Reuse or recycle all waste materials
- Benign emissions: Eliminate from manufacturing sites all emissions that adversely impact the environment
- Closed loop: Fully integrate products and processes in the recycling loop to conserve natural resources
- Zero occupational injuries and illnesses: Create a workplace free of occupational injuries and illnesses
- Green energy: Use energy in highly efficient ways, and increase use of renewable energy
2016 goals
Maintaining our focus on environmental excellence, Motorola Mobility has set challenging goals for our first five years as a new company. By 2016, we aim to reduce from 2011 levels:
- Absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent
- Greenhouse gas emissions normalized to floor space by 15 percent
- Water use normalized to floor space by 10 percent
- Total waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) normalized to floor space by 10 percent
